Entanglement Equilibrium and the Einstein Equation.

چکیده

A link between the semiclassical Einstein equation and a maximal vacuum entanglement hypothesis is established. The hypothesis asserts that entanglement entropy in small geodesic balls is maximized at fixed volume in a locally maximally symmetric vacuum state of geometry and quantum fields. A qualitative argument suggests that the Einstein equation implies the validity of the hypothesis. A more precise argument shows that, for first-order variations of the local vacuum state of conformal quantum fields, the vacuum entanglement is stationary if and only if the Einstein equation holds. For nonconformal fields, the same conclusion follows modulo a conjecture about the variation of entanglement entropy.

Characteristics of the Temporal Behavior of Entanglement between Photonic Binomial Distributions and a Two-Level Atom in a Damping Cavity

In the present study, temporal behavior of entanglement between photonic binomial distributions and a two-level atom in a leaky cavity, in equilibrium with the environment at a temperature T, is studied. In this regard, the master equation is solved in the secular approximation for the density matrix, when the initial photonic distribution is binomial, while the atomic states obey the Boltzmann...

Evolutional Entanglement in Nonequilibrium Processes

Entanglement in nonequilibrium systems is considered. A general definition for entanglement measure is introduced, which can be applied for characterizing the level of entanglement produced by arbitrary operators. Applying this definition to reduced density matrices makes it possible to measure the entanglement in nonequilibrium as well as in equilibrium statistical systems. An example of a mul...

The Impact of the Spectral Filter Bandwidth on the Spectral Entanglement and Indistinguishability of Photon Pairs of SPDC Process

In this paper, we have investigated the dependence of the spectral entanglement and indistinguishability of photon pairs produced by the spontaneous parametric down-conversion (SPDC) procedure on the bandwidth of spectral filters used in the detection setup. The SPDC is a three-wave mixing process which occurs in a nonlinear crystal and generates entangled photon pairs and utilizes as one of th...

Entanglement of two-mode Bose-Einstein condensates

We investigate the entanglement characteristics of two general bimodal Bose-Einstein condensates—a pair of tunnel-coupled Bose-Einstein condensates and the atom-molecule Bose-Einstein condensate. We argue that the entanglement is only physically meaningful if the system is viewed as a bipartite system, where the subsystems are the two modes. The indistinguishibility of the particles in the cond...

We consider the quantum correlations, i.e. the entanglement, between two systems uniformly accelerated with identical acceleration a in opposite Rindler quadrants which have reached thermal equilibrium with the Unruh heat bath. To this end we study an exactly soluble model consisting of two oscillators coupled to a massless scalar field in 1+1 dimensions. We find that for some values of the par...
